THE SIGNAL
In a McKinsey Global Survey of 1,259 participants (fielded February 2018, published April 30, 2019), respondents reported spending 37% of their time making decisions, and more than half of that time was thought to be spent ineffectively. Only 48% agreed that their organizations make decisions quickly. Just 37% said their organizations' decisions are both high in quality and velocity.
BEFORE
Hypothetical: a commercial lender has a covenant exception ready for approval. The relationship manager has written it up, risk has commented and the borrower's numbers are attached. The chief credit officer is the only one who can approve it, and the next slot is Thursday's credit committee.
The file is ready. The person who can release it is not.
WHAT THE WAIT COSTS
The borrower waits four days for an answer it could have had on Monday. The relationship manager rebuilds the summary for the room, risk re-answers questions already in the file, and the committee spends its hour on an item that needed one person's judgment, not a debate.
AFTER
The exception reaches the chief credit officer as one decision packet: the request, the risk comments, the borrower's numbers and the prior exceptions she approved or declined on similar terms, each cited.
She decides Monday afternoon, notes her reason, and the committee keeps its hour for the cases that truly need discussion.
HOW WISDOMTWIN FITS
WisdomTwin.ai is building a sovereign judgment layer for regulated enterprises. It is designed to give each named approver a role-specific judgment twin that prepares the decision packet the way that person reviews, with the evidence attached, so the decision moves faster and leaves an auditable record. It is designed to run on-premises, on-device or in your private cloud, and the named person still makes the call.
We don't replace judgment. We remove the wait.
TRY THIS THIS WEEK
Count the decisions that waited for a recurring committee last month.
For each one, note whether it needed debate or one person's sign-off.
Move one sign-off item out of the meeting and into a written decision packet with a due date.
